Can a Garmin replace WHOOP? Vita reads its data

Yes, provided you switch on Garmin Connect's sync to Apple Health. Vita reads the sleep, resting heart rate, workouts and VO₂max Garmin writes there and computes readiness, load and Body Age — no second band. The caveat: Garmin usually does not pass HRV or Body Battery into Apple Health, so Vita covers those from other signals.

Important caveats (this one matters most for Garmin)

Garmin's HRV Status and Body Battery are proprietary metrics that generally don't reach Apple Health, so Vita can't see them. That doesn't block readiness: it needs any one of HRV / resting heart rate / sleep and renormalises the weights when something is missing — Garmin users typically score from resting heart rate plus sleep. With one fewer input, lean on the trend rather than the absolute number. You must also enable Apple Health writing inside Garmin Connect, or Vita sees nothing at all. Readiness needs roughly 7 days of baseline; the first sync backfills 30. These scores are estimates for general wellness, not a clinical assessment.

Why doesn't Vita connect to my Garmin account directly?

Can readiness work without HRV?

Will Body Battery show up in Vita?
